Advance Screening of "Tropic Thunder" - Viewer Shares "Just the Facts"

Veteran journalist Patricia Bauer recently viewed the new DreamWorks summer film "Tropic Thunder" after reporting extensively about mounting conerns with the movie's frequent use of the "R word" and stereotypical depictions of intellectual disability.

Her recent blog post provides background, a tally of the use of the "R word" in the film, in contrast to the "N word" and other offensive phrases, and a more extended overview of some of the scenes that contain the depictions and dialogue at issue.
