Justice For All

Jfa_logo_4 Justice For All (JFA) exists to defend and advance disability rights and is central to AAPD's mission of economic self-sufficiency and political empowerment of all adults and children with disabilities in the United States. In pursuit of these aims, JFA both shares information and issues high priority calls to action to individual advocates as well as organization run by and for people with disabilities. JFA also supports the principle that people with disabilities and disability issues should be fully-integrated into all national political and policy discussions and decision-making. To this end, JFA also disseminates information about broader domestic policy and political debates that can and often do shape disability-specific priorities.

Established in 1995 to defend and protect disability rights and disability programs specific to the 104th Congress, JFA has since grown to become a highly–respected and relied-upon source of national disability news and action alerts.

Meet the Moderator

Moderator_anne_sommers Anne Sommers, AAPD's Policy Counsel, is the Moderator of both the JFA email listserv and the JFActivist Blog. Prior to joining AAPD as full-time staff, Anne worked with AAPD on a disability rights project for the national American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and before that as a law clerk for Andrew J. Imparato, AAPD's President and CEO. Anne graduated from the William and Mary School of Law in 2006. Prior to pursuing a legal career, Anne worked in marketing and copywriting in the healthcare industry and before that, as a free-lance journalist for the Richmond Times-Dispatch. Anne graduated summa cum laude and received her Bachelor's of Science degree from Virginia Tech University, where for a time she served as the Opinions Editor of the university's award-winning student newspaper. Anne's co-authored bioethics op-eds have been featured in the Washington Post, The Washington Examiner, and Newsday.

Anne's commitment to disability advocacy is informed by her own experience with auto-immunity as well as a congenital bone condition, both of which are also present in family members.
